I also plan to buy a new outdoor griddle and more event display items with the rest.”

How has BEFH supported you in your entrepreneurial journey?

“BEFH has helped me come out of my shell as an individual and given me tools and opportunities to grow as a small business owner. They have been there every step of the way for guidance and support to help me reach my full potential.”

What does being a black entrepreneur in the Flint Hills mean to you?

“This whole experience has been very empowering. I've met some of the most amazing and uplifting people through this community. Something I hope to be apart of for a very long time!”

Describe the importance of having a black business community like BEFH

“I never got to experience a sense of community like this growing up, as I was adopted and grew up in a small white community. It was mostly love, but there were some occurances. To be seen and heard, appreciated and encouraged almost daily...there's no feeling like that.”

Please describe a BEFH event that has helped you in your business? (ie. networking opportunities, learning something you didn't know, a feeling of community, etc.)

“BEFH has provided several opportunities to network and grow and an individual as well as a small business owner in the area. I suffer from Anxiety, which allows for difficulty meeting new people and putting myself out there, but I have found myself looking forward to these specific events.”

Has BEFH referred business to you this year?
“Yes, BEFH referred us for brunch catering at KState Sports, business meeting catering, and catering for Spark Business Launch Graduates this year.”
