Black Joy Mental Health Program

Welcome to the Black Joy Mental Health Program

We understand that mental health is a crucial aspect of well-being, and it's especially important in addressing the unique challenges faced by the Black community. Our program is designed to empower you to take control of your mental health journey and work towards a happier, healthier life as well as to overcome mindset challenges to achieve your business goals.

We are dedicated to promoting mental well-being and addressing the impact of the racial wealth gap on health outcomes in the Black community. Through our partnership with the Kansas Health Foundation and the Butler Family Foundation, we aim to provide the necessary resources to narrow this gap through entrepreneurship.

At Black Joy Mental Health Program, we are here to support your journey towards better mental health and well-being. We believe that access to quality mental health care is a fundamental right, and we are committed to making it accessible to you.

Black Joy is Healing Panel Discussion & Brunch

The racial wealth gap has a clear and direct impact on health and the wealth position a child is born into will shape opportunity, outcomes and health throughout life. The racial wealth gap is also part of the reason the COVID-19 pandemic drove down life expectancy for Black and Latinx people in the United States, even more than for those who are White. The everyday stress of living paycheck to paycheck without the benefit of a nest egg to buffer against an unexpected event. Adding to this stress is the psychological burden of race-related stressors tied to every transaction for Black people. Entrepreneurship is a clear pathway for Black Americans to increase generational wealth. Through our partnership with Kansas Health Foundation and the Butler Family Foundation, we will gain financial resources needed to do the important work to narrow the racial wealth gap through entrepreneurship while positively impacting better health outcomes for black entrepreneurs. Thank you to our key sponsors for this event, Kansas Health Foundation, Kansas African American Affairs Commission and Kansas Black Leadership Council.
